BRONZE Clinics
11-Week Session (Sep-9 to Nov-24, 2024)
This curriculum is for beginners and elementary school students; should they have a US Squash rating it will be no higher than 2.5. The sessions are 45-minutes with an assigned professional on each court giving personalized instruction. Participants work on and become familiar with technical fundamentals, including grip, swing and some footwork and movement patterns as well as more advanced tactics. The goal of these classes is to prepare students to graduate to a standard ball and play in local tournaments.
BRONZE Clinics

CLINICS are limited to one pro per court.
PRACTICES involve the pro simultaneously instructing 2 or more courts.

BRONZE Clinics: This curriculum is for beginners and elementary school students; should they have a US Squash rating it will be no higher than 2.5. The sessions are 45-minutes with an assigned professional on each court giving personalized instruction. Participants work on and become familiar with technical fundamentals, including grip, swing and some footwork and movement patterns as well as more advanced tactics. These clinics use a “Competition” ball, which is a standard size but has a 10% longer hang-time than the standard ball. The goal of these classes is to prepare students to graduate to a standard ball and play in local tournaments.
SILVER Clinics:
These clinics are for middle school students, and for players with US Squash ratings up to 3.3. They are 90 intense minutes with an assigned professional on each court giving personalized instruction. Participants in these clinics must want to work hard to improve their skills to compete effectively. The standard “Pro” ball is used and players have full-sized racquets. Speed, agility & conditioning training is included. The goal of these clinics is to prepare students for competitive play both at tournaments and on school teams.
GOLD Clinics: These clinics are competitive training for high school students and for players with US Squash ratings 3.0 and higher. They are 90 intense minutes with an assigned professional on each court giving personalized instruction. Participants in these clinics must want to work hard to improve their skills for competition. Speed, agility & conditioning training is included. The goal of these clinics is to prepare students for competitive play both at tournaments and on school teams.
High Performance:
The High Performance program is for JCT, Gold and Silver tournament players who want to challenge themselves to maximize their competitive game. They are coached exclusively by INTENSITY’s director of squash, Adam Walker; there is a strict limit of 3 players on 1 court with him. Sessions are 90-minutes and include speed, agility & conditioning training. New players are required to take a private lesson to qualify for the program.
STAPLES Practices:
These pre-season school practices are organized by the Westport Squash parents association and are for STAPLES high school students. Players commit to two weekly practices. They are 90-minutes with a maximum of 3 players per court. A certified squash professional gives instruction and drills simultaneously across 2 or more courts. The goal of these practices is to prepare students to join a team for the main season Fairwest League inter-school match schedule with the possibility of going to the High School National Championship in late February. More information and registration for all practices is through the Westport Squash website.
Middle School Practices:
These practices are organized by the Westport Squash parents association and are for Westport middle school students. Players commit to two weekly practices (Fridays and Sundays). They are 60-minutes with a maximum of 3 players per court. A certified squash professional gives instruction and drills simultaneously across 2 or more courts. This program is divided into 3 skill levels (new to squash, beginner and intermediate). The goal of these practices is to prepare students to join a team for the main season Fairwest League inter-school match schedule with the possibility of going to the Middle School National Championship in February. Elementary School Girls Practices:
These practices are organized by the Westport Squash parents association and are for Westport elementary school girls who play a Sunday 45-minute practice with a maximum of 3 players per court. A certified squash professional gives instruction and is assisted by on-court volunteer high school players. The goal of these practices is to introduce the next generation of players to this fun and athletic sport at an age where they can develop correct strokes and movement from the get go. REGISTRATION: Spaces are limited and INTENSITY reserves the right to not accept a registration. INTENSITY makes every effort to ensure that the programs run to schedule but reserves the right to re-schedule in the event of insufficient sign-ups or events beyond the club’s control.
LIABILITY WAIVER: due to the nature of the sport injuries can occur, registrant acknowledges the risks and waives INTENSITY of any liability for such.
CANCELLATION POLICY: cancellations for camps or clinics must be in writing and will be accepted up to one week prior to the start of the session for refunds.
ABSENCES: due to the popularity of our programs, make-ups are not offered.
INJURIES: a doctor’s note is required in any case where make-ups are deemed an appropriate remedy for missed classes or, in the case of a prolonged injury, where a house credit may be issued for future use in a similar future program. Refunds are NOT offered and registrant agrees to make payment in full for all registered programs. Registrant agrees to pay INTENSITY reasonable attorney’s fees and costs in connection with collection of any amounts owed.
VIDEO / LIVE STREAMING: the club uses video/live streaming technology for informational use as a teaching tool during lessons, clinics and matches. Registrant confirms that they are aware of this and gives permission for it’s use.
